Born in the East or perhaps in Africa, not just a beauty accessory or useful for keeping hair in order, it was above all a talking headdress that told of one’s origins, belonging to a tribe and even to a small social circle.
He comes to Brazil as a hair accessory from Africa in the era of the slave trade. In the 1700s it spreads in Europe and particularly in France as a new detail of women’s fashion.
